Biome Introduction
Biomes are found all over the world. There are different types of biomes, they all affect our way of living.Biomes are important because organisms and plants live there. The factors found at the biomes can be abiotic or biotic you can usually find both in biomes. Biomes are important because we are living there everyday and they affect our ways of living and thinking.
The Tropical Rainforest
The Tropical Rainforest is located near the equator. Ir is very warm the average temperature is 25 degrees Celsius. It rains a lot in the Tropical Rainforest, they get a precipitation of 200 to 600 cm per year. The Tropical Rainforest is home to an astonishing variety of organisms. All the organisms live in different zones. There are four zones: forest floor, understory, canopy, and emergents. Forest floor is at the bottom of the zones then understory and canopy are at the middle, and emergents is at the very top. The soil at the Tropical Rainforest is bad because it has few nutrients because a high number of organisms live in that soil. Animals that live at the Tropical Rainforest are jaguars, frogs, birds, bees, monkey, lizards, quetzals etc. A famous tree at the Tropical Rainforest is the Tualang. The Tropical Rainforests are being destroyed because farmers cut down trees to sell the valuable wood. So, nowaday a lot of people are against cutting trees, now we are trying to preserve the Rain Forests!
The Tundra
Tundras are located near the North and South poles. The Tundra is a very cold place with an average temperature of -12 degrees Celsius. It does not rain very often at the Tundra, they get less than 25 cm of rain per year. The Tundra has bad soil because it is permafroze. Tundras do not have many animals most of the animals there are migratory birds.During winter the Tundra does not receive sunlight, but during summer they recieve sunlight, it is the opposite. Not many plants grow there only grass and moss.
The Grassland
Grasslands are found near the equator. Grasslands do not get much rain they get 25 to 75 cm of rain per year. It is very warm and sunny except when it is raining. There are two types of
Grasslands which are temperate and tropical. Some types of Grasslands are praires, plains, steepe, savanna and pampas. Grasslands have fertile soil in which they grow wheat, rye, oats and corn. Besides crops they also grow certain plants like fairy dusters. Many mammals live at the Grasslands, some animals are the kangaroos, wildebeests, impalas and zebras.

The Temperate Rainforest
The Temperate Rainforest is somewhat cold with an average temperature of 9 to 12 degrees Celsius. The precipitation is 200 to 400 cm of rain per year. The soil must be good for the trees, some trees that are grown there are net like trees like the Douglas Fir and the Western Red Cedar. There is not a lot of sunlight so it is not very warm. There is a diverse variety of animals there such as black bears, cougars, and amphibians. The Temperate Rainforest provides jobs, logging is a huge job they provide, but logging is bad because trees do a lot for us so let's try to preserve the trees of the Temperate Rainforest!
The Temperate Deciduos Forest
The Temperate Deciduos Rain Forest has four seasons. It is located in the northern part of the world. The temperature during the summer is about 30 degrees Celsius and during winter it is less than 0 degrees Celsius. Plenty of evergreen trees are found at the Temperate Deciduos Forest. It recieves a lot of sunlight. The Temperate Deciduos Forest has great soil because they need the trees to grow. Some animals that live there are the White- Tail Deer, Foxes,Rabbits, and Horseshoe crabs.
The Taiga
The Taiga is located south the poles, below the Tundras. The Taiga is the world's largest biome. It is located at the cold forest region. At the Taiga it snows 35 to 100 cm per year. The latitude of the
Taiga is 50 degrees north and 60 degrees north. The soils thaw during summer. Most of the animals that live at the Taiga are migratory such as shrews, moose, lynx, bears, and foxes. The forests are so dense that little sunlight ever gets past the trees of the Taigas. A type of tree at the taiga is the Jack Pine.

The Desert
The Deserts are located near the equator and are so warm it hardly ever rains. The Desert gets less than 25 cm of rain per year. The desert plants are adapted to the survival in the extreme dryness, hot, and cold temperatures of this biome. The cactus is a familiar plant that lives at the Desert. Every drop of water that is left on the ground evaporates quickly. Most Deserts are covered with thin, sandy or gravelly soil that contains little organic material for this reason the soil is bad at the desert. Since the Desert receives less than 25 cm of rain per year it does not support many plant life. Not many animals live at the Desert because of how hot it is. but you can find some snakes at the Deserts.
